When you phone the surgery you will have the following options:

  • Doctor appointment
  • Nurse Practitioner appointment
  • Nurse appointment
  • Nurse Practitioner/Nurse telephone advice (see Telephone Advice)

All of the nurses appointments are available to be booked in advance.

Appointments for medicals, cryocautery, coil fitting, antenatal/postnatal clinics and minor surgery may all be pre-booked.

Saturday morning surgeries

The partners have decided to participate in the 'Extended hours' Local Enhanced Service (LES) that the Government has been promoting in the media recently. This new service for routine appointments, however, has important differences from the old Saturday morning urgent/emergency surgeries which many of you will recall from several years ago. Routine appointments to see the duty GP at the Medical Centre will need to be PRE-BOOKED.   The dispensary is open from 8.00am to 12.00 on Saturdays.

Please note that the normal Out Of Hours (OOH) service for urgent medical attention outside of the core Monday to Friday surgery hours of 8.00am to 6.30pm is accessible by telephoning 0844 477 1886. This emergency service will operate as usual, concurrently with the pre-booked routine Saturday morning surgery, so medical emergencies including requests for home visits will be dealt with by this OOH service in the usual manner.

Nurse Practitioners

A Nurse Practitioner can assess, diagnose and treat illnesss and prescribe medication. She can refer you for tests or onto one of our own GPs as appropriate. You will find that the Nurse Practitioner is the person to book with on the day if you have an acute illness. The Nurse Practitioner clinics are available daily.
